More Jansan Industry Presence at GreenBuild Show

Attendees Learn Green Cleaning Can Be Inexpensive

Canton, MA November 21, 2008  The GreenBuild 2008 International Conference and Expo currently under way at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center has grown dramatically in recent years in the number of both attendees and exhibitors.

And it appear that slowly, but steadily, the number of jansan-related companies exhibiting and attending the show is on the rise, according to Mike Nelson, Vice President of Marketing for Pro-Link, a jansan-focused marketing and buying group that exhibited at the show,

“There are 10 to 12 jansan-related manufacturers exhibiting at the show this year,” he says. “This is a substantial increase compared to just a couple of years ago.”

The overall number of attendees at this year’s tradeshow is expected to exceed 20,000. The U.S. Green Building Council, which presents the show, will likely release the exact number shortly after the conference closes on November 21.

Nelson notes that many of the show attendees he spoke with were surprised by how inexpensive it is to gain LEED* certification points by incorporating Green cleaning.

“Instead of spending thousand of dollars on a Green roof, for example, building managers can transfer to environmentally preferable cleaning products and supplies at little or no additional costs at all,” he explains.

Nelson adds that as the show grows in numbers, he expects the jansan industry to have an even greater presence there as well.

“When you think about it, our industry is actually one of the leaders in the Green movement,” he says. “This is likely to become an important tradeshow for cleaning professionals.”
